December 31 deadline cancelled to link Aadhar with bank accounts

The case filed in the Supreme Court against the central government decision to make mandatory the link of Aadhar cards with Bank account, PAN card, Mobile number is scheduled for enquiry tomorrow (Thursday, 14th December).
In this situation, the central government has cancelled the deadline announced for the mandatory link of Aadhar with bank accounts.
The central government had declared 31st December to be the deadline for the linking of Aadhar card with bank accounts, insurance policies, etc.
However, in an announcement released today, the central government declared that the above deadline is cancelled. It has informed that the new deadline will be up to 31st March 2018.
As it has been made mandatory for Aadhar card even to open bank accounts, and also the central government deciding to extend the deadline for Aadhar-Bank account link, it has announced that the standing deadline of 31st December stands cancelled.
With the intervention of the Supreme Court, the central government had earlier extended the deadline for linking Aadhar with various welfare schemes up to 31st March 2018. It is notable that now the deadline for the link to Aadhar-Bank accounts is also cancelled.
