Veteran Musician MS Viswanathan Conferred Doctorate

The 20th Convocation for students was held in Manonmaniam Sundaranar University (MSU). Governor Rosaiah presided over the convocation and conferred the degrees on the students.
Vice Chancellor Kumaraguru made the welcome address. A doctorate was given to veteran film musician, MS Viswanathan, who composed music for Tamil Mother Anthem. Tamil Nadu governor Rosaiah conferred the doctorate on him.
Viswanathan, popularly called `mellisai mannar MSV` has scored music for nearly 700 films in Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam, mostly along with his friend Ramamoorthy. Viswanathan was always in demand and was the highest paid music director for two decades till 1980. Apart from a number of awards, Viswanathan was also conferred a honorary doctorate in 2006 by Sathyabama University.
