Chennai Metro Rail Limited (CMRL) officially announced the delay in opening the Chennai Central Metro Station as the shifting and mobilization of essential things of the station is not yet completed.
Commuters will have to wait for another two weeks for the commencement of the metro station for the public use. The central metro is very much expected by the commuters as it directly connects to the southern parts of the Chennai city especially Airport.
CMRL projected to connect the station with Nehru Park, Chennai Egmore and Chennai Central in a stretch of 2.7 Km. The earlier opening was planned in the month of March and now the postponement will be considered by the safety body Commissioner of Metro Rail Safety (CMRS).
The dedicated body will check and inspect the operations and safety precautions in the planned route and also in the trains. Once the permission is granted and approved for the journey the final process of public opening will be done.
