Weather Forecast for the week in India from May 1 to May 6

Let us take a look at the weather forecast for the week:

Northwest India

Dry weather conditions with isolated dust storm and thunderstorm activities are likely to occur over the northwestern plains till May 1. Thereafter, pre-Monsoon activities will once again commence by May 2 over Punjab, Haryana, North Rajasthan, Delhi and West Uttar Pradesh. Simultaneously, a Western Disturbance will also approach and start giving rain and thundershowers over Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and parts of Uttarakhand.

On and off pre-monsoon activities will continue till May 4 over the Northern Plains and Western Himalayas. On May 6 another Western Disturbance is expected to give rains over Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and parts of Uttarakhand. Isolated places of North Rajasthan and South Haryana may witness heatwave conditions.

Central India

Isolated thunderstorm and dust storm are expected over Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh during next 24 hours. Thereafter, we expect weather to become dry then around May 3, isolated thunderstorm and thundershowers are likely over East Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh. Heatwave conditions will continue over parts of Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Vidarbha. Hot day is also expected at few places over these states.

East and Northeast India

Light to moderate rains with few heavy spells are expected over Gangetic West Bengal, North Odisha and Jharkhand during next 24-48 hours. Light rain is possible over Bihar and East Uttar Pradesh. Scattered rain and thundershowers will continue over the northeastern states. On May 3 and May 4, West Assam and Gangetic West Bengal will continue with heavy rains at many places. But remaining parts of east India will get isolated pre-Monsoon activities. On May 5, weather will become dry in Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and Jharkhand.

South India

Scattered rain and thundershower are expected over Kerala, South Interior Karnataka, Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Interior Tamil Nadu. Coastal Andhra Pradesh may revive good spells of rain between May 1 to May 4. On and off rainfall activities will continue over Kerala and Interior Karnataka.
