10 Percent increase in the prices of White Goods

Those who have planned to buy white goods like Television, Air Conditioner and Refrigerator this summer will have to face a big blow in their planned budget. An approximate rate of 10 percent increase in the prices of these white goods were officially confirmed.

Now for an instance a television is tagged between Rs12, 000 and Rs15, 000, those products’ prices will be re-tagged with an increase of about Rs1, 200 to Rs1, 500 respectively.

This sudden hike of the prices is the result of increase in the production costs for the White goods manufacturing companies. The Electronic products manufacturers gets some of the raw materials necessary for the production in very expensive prices after the Central Government’s imposition of GST.

GST for the white goods are considered as luxury and not an essential things for a typical Indian Family says an official from the Central government Taxing Department. People have a very different point of view in buying such goods, making it entirely a fact that Central Tax Department is imposing GST on such white goods products directly affects the general consumers only.

People were expecting a decrease in prices of Television and Refrigerator looking for a cut in GST but the sudden increase from 18 % to 28% for White goods was a big shock for the Consumers. After several requests and appeals the Consumers were eagerly waiting for the price cut and the latest reports confirms that there will be a hike of about 10 Percent in the prices of White Goods.
