Using different technology for air-conditioning!! Sound’s incredible isn’t it!!      

Yes. It is now revealed that Chennai metro would opt for different technology for air-conditioning purpose for the upcoming corridors. This different technology is the refrigeration technology and the sensational news is by this technology water could be saved plus sewage water could be treated and could also be used. Presently an average of 1000 litres of water is being utilized is known.

On Wednesday, 30th May 2018, Mr. L. Narasim Prasad who is the director system and operations of CMRL confirmed the above in a meeting.

He later spoke about the 2 underground stretches Nehru Park to Central and Saidapet to AG-DMS. He threw light on the fact that patronage has increased and it was more than 7 lakhs since its inauguration. In the next week the exit gate of Central near Moore market would be opened and it would be superb. Then Mr. Narasim Prasad spoke about the revenue and how food outlets located outside the metro are doing good business now. He highlighted about the presence of 50 safety cameras in each metro station and how tracking something at the remote corners would be easy now.

Installation of solar panels outside the Chennai Central and Saidapet would be done soon and these solar panels could double up as bus shelters also. Inside 15 days, the work at the Saidapet metro station would start and as much as 400 kilowatt of power would be produced.

The important piece of information is renovation of Nehru Park would be finished by next month and under the Kathipara flyover intermodal hub work has started. By the month of November this work would be completed fully. It is now brought out that the average earnings of CMRL from farebox is Rs 10 lakh per day and Rs 1 lakh from parking.
