Veerapan associates’ mercy petition rejected

President Pranab mukherjee has rejected the mercy petitions of 4 convicts found guilty of killing 22 people in landmine blasts. The four, who were associates of notorious forest brigand veerappan, laid the landmines in palar in Karnataka in and have been in a belgaum jail for 9 years.

Mr. gagandeep, additional director-general of prisons in Karnataka, has said that the prisoners have been informed of the development and that, as per procedure, the execution date will be fixed by a sessions court.
