During weekends, you will soon be able to visit shopping malls in Chennai Metro, as it is set to offer feeder services to attract more number of visitors.
As per sources from the Chennai Metro Rail Limited, very soon, the feeder services will be re-routed. The ones starting from AG-DMS and Alandur stations shall cover until Spencer Plaza along Anna Salai, and then towards Express Avenue Mall, Royapettah, and Phoenix Mall, Velachery.
Feeder service that starts at AG-DMS station shall migrate towards Spencer Plaza and the Express Avenue Mall on all weekdays. There will be vans hailing from Alandur Metro Station to take the commuters to Phoenix Mall, Velachery, and Saravana Stores, Porur only during weekends.
Ultimate ease of shopping
With the AG-DMS station, there will be share car services to reach Express Avenue and Spencer Plaza and Royapettah Government Hospital.
Likewise, starting from Alandur Metro station, there will be vans towards Railway Station Road, Lake View Street, Karuneegar Street, Kakkan Nagar Main Road, Velachery Main Road, TNHB Main Road, ITC Grand Chola, Phoenix Mall, Guindy Metro Station, and Le Meridian.
Each and every day, there will be feeder services available. This includes auto rickshaws, share cars, etc. that start from specific stations in the areas. These feeders shall be functional in 3-km radius around the station.
Starting from AG-DMS station, the cars shall be available at Rs 15. Likewise, there are Tempo Traveler services available starting from Alandur Metro Station until DLF, Porur. This will be available for every 15 minutes at Rs 20.
As most people do not work on weekends, these vehicles are planned to be sent to Phoenix Mall, Velachery, and Saravana Stores, Porur as it will be of help for hundreds of commuters. Recently, the feeder service was started by the Chennai Metro Rail where share autos and car facilities were made available. In another few months, the stations are also likely to get the services.
