Captivating Art Show on Realism in the city between January 19-20, 2019

A captivating art exhibition on the theme of Realism, showcasing the works of fine-art by artists V. Mohan, A. Z. Ranjit and K. Ramachandran will be held at the C. P. Art Center,Eldams Road, Alwarpet, Chennai,between January 19-20, 2019.

This exhibition presents a spectrum of rich and tasteful drawings and paintings done in myriad styles and techniques,featuring more than 100 works of artists V. Mohan, A. Z.Ranjit and K. Ramachandran,includingpen & ink,water color, acrylic, oil paints, crayons and sketches. The inauguration of the exhibition is scheduled on January 18, 2019 at 5:30 pm, and the show will be extended for patrons of art between January 19-20, 2019, 10:00 am - 8:00 pm on both the days, with an open invitation and free entry to all.

Realism, an artistic movement dating back to the 1850s, sought to portray real and typical interpretations of contemporary people and situations with truth and accuracy;depicting people and objects from varied backgrounds and everyday life,producing representations that look objectively real. This exhibition attempts to bring forth the vibrancy in day-to-day life and provides an impressive creative pool highlighting new and exciting works of the artists.
Mohan`s creativity meets expression effortlessly over his favourite pencil sketches and pen & ink drawings. With his favorite subjects being temples, monuments and portraits, he has an eye for finesse and detail which makes his work of art a veritable treasure. He holds a degree in Visual Communication Design from Government College of Fine Arts, Kumbakonam, further being trained under legendary graphic artists like Narayanasamy of AdImage and DrishtyVinayagar fame Bhaskar Das. He has made a significant impression in the art world for the last 30 years.
Ranjit holds post-graduation in painting from Government College of Fine Arts, Chennai. From his childhood works till now he has been involved in realistic, academic drawings and paintings and his interest has never wavered. He has been honored with the state Lalit Kala AkademyAward.He doesnt restrict himself to themes, styles or mediums. Squeezing the maximum out of the chosen medium for a particular art-work gives him great pleasure.
Ramachandran works as an Assistant Director in Weavers` Service Center in Ranchi. As a painter, his interests have been on varied subjects starting from portraits to landscapes through still-life and compositions. He did his post-graduation in Textile Design from Government college of Fine arts, Chennai and is also a recipient of the state Lalit Kala AkademyAward.All his works have meticulous drawing and adventurous coloring, exhibiting a close relationship between him and the subjects.

The three artists have unique techniques and have created thousands of art worksacross different themes, styles and genres. They have participated in many national and state-level art exhibitions.The visitors can meet artists at the C. P. Art Center during the exhibition hours and learn more about various interesting aspects of art, its techniques and Realism.
