These days many cyber crimes have been taking place in the state of Tamil Nadu is known. Inspite of many efforts taken to stop these cyber crimes the crimes haven’t stopped. It is now said that the state government would announce the formation of independent agency within the police department for the cyber crime cases. It must be noted that the department of cyber crimes includes white collar offences like land grabbing, bank frauds and cheating etc.

The important point is earlier there was only one cyber crime unit in every district headquarters and these came under the direct control of superintendents of police and commissioners of police. It is worth mentioning that in the beginning cyber crime wing played the role of an auxiliary unit used for registering the lost mobile phones.

In the next stage the cyber crime unit services were utilized to keep tab on the movements of a suspect’s mobile phone and tower location. Tracking down of the suspects across India is possible now by the cyber crime wing and for this purpose ISRO`s latest satellites and technology advancement have been playing their roles.

These days many people use mobiles and computers in many crimes and the TN police top personnel had ordered to have atleast 2 trained cyber crime police personnel in each police station. It must be noted that their main job is to co-ordinate with the cyber crime laboratories present in each district headquarters. It must be taken into account that the city police have got an exclusive cyber crime unit and CB-CID has got another unique cyber lab. This unit is highly required now was later confirmed by a senior police officer.

The officer then spoke about how the importance of the unit was emphasized in the chief minister’s conference that took place in Delhi. To handle all the cyber crime related cases, the specialized unit would function under a special unit like CB-CID and this was later confirmed by another senior police official. Additional director general of police or ADGP would be the head of the unit. It is worthy to note that DGP Jaffer Sait, ADGP Amaresh Pujari and Sankar Jiwal are efficient in handling gadgets.
