Small Buses to be operated in 5 new routes from the Chennai Metro Rail Stations

Small buses are to be operated in 5 new routes starting from the Chennai Matro Rail Stations.

The Chennai Metro Rail Project was conceived and executed with the main objective of reducing the heavy traffic congestions encountered in all the main areas of the traffic. In the 1st of the Chennai Metro Rail Project, the public service has been operating in 2 corridors of the city covering 45 km.

The Chennai Metro Rail has been organising various special faculties for the passengers. Presently, to facilitate the passengers of Chennai Metro Rail, an additional 11 Small Buses are being operated from the Chennai Metro Stations at Alandur, LIC, and Washermanpet Railway Stations. These buses will operate on 5 new routes.
  • The small bus route number S84 will operate from Alandur Metro Station to DLF.
  • Small Bus S30 will run from LIC Metro Station to Vivekananda House.
  • Small Bus S36 will operate from Chennai Metro DMS station to Nungambakkam Railway Station.
  • Small Bus S72 will operate from Chennai Metro Washermanpet Station to IOC.
  • Small Bus S71 will operate from the Chennai Metro Washermanpet station to Egmore Railway Station.
11 new buses have been pressed into service. These small buses will operate by starting from the respective Chennai Metro City stations every 20 minutes. The Chennai Metro Rail passengers can avail the facility for faster and easier transport!

Presently, small buses are being operated by the Chennai Metro City Corporation in 14 routes.

It may be noted here that there are already small bus services which are operating from the Chennai Metro Rail Koyambedu CMBT, Ashok Nagar, and Alandur.

 Other facilities such as shared cars and shared autos are also being organised for the facility of the Chennai Metro Rail passengers.
