Last mile connectivity for the commuters is very important to reach their places of destination. Many IT employees find it tough to get this last mile connectivity in Chennai is known.
The IT employees working in the Tidel Park and in the Ramanujam IT Park in Taramani who are finding it difficult to get the last mile connectivity could feel relieved and happy now.
It is now brought out that Chennai metro would soon be running air-conditioned tempo travelers for these IT professionals working in the above said places in Chennai. This tempo traveler would be operated from the Little Mount metro station from 26th August 2019. It must be taken into account that those passengers going to these 2 IT parks using the feeder services would have to pay a flat amount of Rs 20.
From Monday to Friday, these tempo travelers would be operated for every 30 minutes and this was as per the officials belonging to the CMRL. It is worthy to mention that most IT offices are closed during the weekends so tempo traveler services would be operated only during the weekdays.
It was mentioned by an official belonging to CMRL that several IT employees across Chennai city take metro trains and the tempo travelers would help them. He added that those who use other modes of transport or private vehicles would also take the metro trains hereafter due to the fact that they could go to their homes directly and time could be saved.
To further help the metro passengers, the officials belonging to CMRL are planning to hold talks with the authorities of the 2 IT parks to allow the vehicles inside their premises. Point to be noted is CMRL has been running feeder services from the Alandur metro station to the DLF IT Park for the benefit of the IT employees.
There are many share autos and share cars available to many metro stations such as Koyambedu, Ekkatuthangal, LIC, Thousand Lights, Government Estate, Ashok Nagar and Chennai central is known. Information collected is the services would be available at all the 32 metro stations in the coming months. This has been confirmed by the officials now.
