CMRL introduces feeder cab services in Arumbakkam and Nehru Park in Chennai

For those residents of Chennai who are using metro trains, here comes a superb piece of news.
On Friday, 27th September, CMRL introduced metro cab feeder services in places like Arumbakkam and Nehru Park. It is important to note that the feeder cab services could cover a distance of 6km to 8km from each station at a flat rate of Rs10.
Point to be noted is the ticketing system for this service is integrated with the Chennai Metro Smart Card System and Chennai Metro Rail mobile app system. The important information is the feeder cab services would be extended to other places like Saidapet, Kilpauk and Anna Nagar tower stations too in the future. It is known that Chennai Metro has tied up with Bengaluru Mega Cabs Private Limited to provide feeder cab services in 10 operational metro stations.
In metro stations situated in the places like Nandanam, AGDMS, Thousand Lights, LIC, Government Estate, Chennai Central, Washermanpet, Airport, Shenoy Nagar, Nanganallur Road stations feeder services are provided through an app based system developed by Ford Mobility.
Information collected is Mr. Durga Shankar Mishra, Union Housing and Urban Affairs (MOHUA) secretary and chairman CMRL, visited CMRL and inspected CMRL depot. Point to be noted is the implementation of rolling stock remote diagnostic system and water conservation methods undertaken in the rolling stock of CMRL through air conditioning drip water system were explained to him. Solar panels are installed at the CMRL depot and Mr Durga Shankar Mishra inspected the solar panels.
It is known that CMRL has created Miyawaki forest and in this forest native species have been planted using Miyawaki technique. In an area of 400 sq meters a total of 1280 saplings were planted. The official visited this forest also later. At the Koyambedu metro station parking lot is present Apna Pay cashless transaction facility and the chairman inspected this also.
