32 ATMs to be installed in Chennai Metro Rail Stations!

CMRL officials informed that as an additional facility for the CMRL passengers/commuters, 32 ATMs (Automatic Telling Machines) are to be installed in 19 Chennai Metro Rail Stations including Central, Egmore, Nehru Park, and Nandanam.

CMRL administration has been taking several initiatives in order to attract more passengers in Chennai Metro. A few days ago, a concession of 50% on the fare was announced for travel on Sundays and holidays.

In this scenario, as another initiative to improve the facilities for the passengers/commuters, CMRL administration has decided to install 32 ATMs in all the 9 stations underground.

CMRL officials shared in this regard:

‘We are earnestly engaged in the initiatives in order to provide the passengers/commuters with all the latest facilities including the basic amenities.

As a part of this, ATMs have already been installed in 13 Chennai Metro Rail Stations including Alandur and Koyambedu.

In the next phase of this activity, ATMs are set to be installed in all the 19 underground stations. Accordingly, 32 ATMs will be installed in the following stations: Shenoy Nagar, Pachaiyappa’s College, Saidapet, Nandanam. LIC, Kilpauk, Nehru Park, Thirumangalam, Anna Nagar Tower, Anna Nagar East, Central, Egmore, Teynampet, DMS, Thousand Lights, Government Guest House, High Court, Mannadi and Washermenpet.

A space of 5 sq meters has been allotted specifically for this. The related tenders have been released. Once a decision is made with the banks,  they will install the ATMs.
