As the eagerly-awaited grand Mandala Poojai occasion is fast approaching at the Sabarlimalai Sri Lord Ayyappan Temple, there has been an uncontrollable huge crowd of devotees gathered  at Sabarimalai. There is a jostling crowd of devotees!

The temple corridors of the Sabarimalai Lord Sri Ayyappann Temple were opened on 15th November for the Mandala Poojai.

Right from this day, huge crowds of devotees, especially from the neighbouring states of Andhra, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu have been gathering in large numbers!

Due to these immense crowd of devotees, they need to wait for at least 10 hours to have the Darshan of Lord Sri Ayyappan.

In this situation, the solar eclipse is set to occur on 26th December. The temple corridors are to remain closed for 4 hours during this solar eclipse period.

The day after the solar eclipse, on 27th December, Mandala Poojai is scheduled at the Lord Ayyappan Temple and there has been a surge of devotees reaching Sabarimalai.

As such, in an attempt to manage the huge crowd of devotees, certain regulations have been imposed on the devotees.

Groups of devotees are stopped and are to stay in Nilakkal and Pampa and will be allowed in small groups to move towards the Sannidhanam.

To facilitate the unprecedented crowd of devotees, additional police have been deployed and it is being ensured that the devotees have a safe Darshan of the Lord Ayyappan!
