High demand for metro cabs from the airport station to MEPZ Pallavaram

During the peak hours, passengers who have been using metro rail feeder cab services from airport metro station to MEPZ in Pallavaram have been demanding more cabs in this important route. The waiting time for the cabs has gone up now due to the insufficient cabs present.
Along this above-mentioned route, as many as 4 cabs are being operated by the metro rail and this is out of a total of 8 plying from airport metro station.
The lack of space has been a great concern for many passengers who travel in the cabs. It has been brought to light by a regular commuter that the cab is smaller than a tempo traveller and it could accommodate only 6 to 7 persons. Many senior citizens, as well as women, find it difficult to sit in these cabs.
Now, the passengers are demanding an increase in the frequency of the cabs. Some passengers also want temp travellers to be run in the above-said route.
A commuter belonging to Chitlapakkam spoke about how when the driver doesn’t respond then the services get affected. This results in many issues for the commuters.
At present, there are as many as 236 cabs in total and soon the number of cabs along the route would be increased for the benefit of the commuters. This was according to an official belonging to metro rail.
Important information is at places like Washermenpet, Thirumangalam and Koyambedu stations cab frequency has been increased and in the future cabs, the frequency would be increased in the route between airport metro station and MEPZ according to the demand.
The existing infrastructure was given a lift by CMRL as the patronage was picking up steadily. On Thursday, 2nd January, a two-tier parking facility for 2-wheelers was inaugurated at the Meenambakkam metro rail station and it caught the attention of many.
Here, at the ground level, 5 two-wheelers could be parked and at the 5 more could be parked at an elevation of 9 feet. Point is hydraulic power is used to lift the parked vehicles and gravitational force is used to bring down.
