Special camps today and tomorrow to include names in the voters list

Special camps are being organised throughout Tamil today and tomorrow (11th & 12th January) to include new names in the voters’ list.
Time has been given to carry out the corrections in the voters’ list such as addition or deletion of names, corrections, change of address, etc. from 23rd December to 22nd January. Accordingly, those who have completed 18 years of age as on 1st January 2020 and those whose names have not been included in the voters’ list so far can add their names.
To facilitate the regular office-goers, the Election Commission had announced that special camps will be conducted at the voting centres throughout Tamil Nadu for 4 holidays on 4th January (Saturday), 5th January (Sunday), 11th January (Saturday), 12th January (Sunday),
Accordingly, special camps were conducted last week on 4th and 5th January in 64000 voting centres throughout Tamil Nadu. Around 1 Lakh citizens participated in this camp and applied for inclusion of their names in their voters’ list. Applications were given for name and address changes as well.
Again, the 2nd Phase of the camp is being conducted today (Saturday, 11th January) and tomorrow (Sunday, 12th January) throughout Tamil Nadu. As such, the citizens have to visit the 64,000 voting centres from 9.00 AM to 5.00 PM and get the necessary forms and apply for inclusion of names, deletion, change of name or address, etc today and tomorrow.
