Facility voting from wherever on the cards!

The facility for the voters to vote from wherever they are, without any need to travel up to the polling booth, is all set to be introduced shortly.
The new technology for this facility has been developed by the Indian Election Commission jointly with the Indian Institute of Technology, Chennai.
The senior officials of the Election Commission shared that the project is still on its early stages and this is being developed adopting the ‘Block Chain’ technology.
Senior Assistant Election Commissioner, Sandeep Saxena shared regarding this: This development may not be construed as though one may vote from the residence! Voting can be done any time using any device, in other words, anytime-anywhere-any device!
In this system, the voters’ IDs will be verified in several stages. Bio-metric systems and web-cameras may be used for this. Only after fully confirming the voter ID, E-ballot paper will appear! One can vote. After that, the voting will be registered with security and safety and will be protected adopting Blockchain Technology.
