Central government to authorize Election Commission to link Aadhar with Voter ID!

As one of the most important steps in the reform of the Election process, the central government has now taken up the linking of voter ID with the Aadhar card.
The Central Government has decided to authorize the Election Commission to go ahead with the link of voter ID with Aadhar card.
The central ministry of Law has commenced the activities towards preparing the official authorisation. Once this is prepared, the approval from the central cabinet is to be obtained. This step is considered as an important step in the election reform.
In order to remove the snags in carrying this out, the central government has decided to modify the Aadhar Act as required.
The Election Commission has informed that by linking voter ID with Aadhar card, fake or sham voter IDs can be identified easily as per the Election Commission.
Further, this reform will also facilitate the labour or working communities which have migrated to other states in need of work to cast their votes wherever they are!
The Supreme Court had given the verdict that Aadhar card is not mandatory in the year 2018. So, the Election Commission has appealed to the Ministry of Law to modify the concerned Act to remove this Supreme Court block on Aadhar cards.
