Prospects for heavy rains in the northern coastal regions!

Due to the development of a cyclonic format in the upper layers of the atmosphere, there are prospects for heavy rains with thunder in 1 or 2 places in the districts of Chennai, Thiruvallur, Kanchipuram, Chingleput, Cuddalore, Villupuram, Pudhukkottai and the delta districts today (Thursday, 12th November).
The Chennai Regional Meteorological Centre has further informed that there are prospects for medium rains in several places in Tamil Nadu for 2 days on 13th & 14th November.
The Director of the |Chennai Regional Meteorological Centre, Puviyarasan, shared in this regard:
“A cyclonic format is prevailing in the upper layers of the atmosphere over the coastal areas in Tamil Nadu. Due to this, there are prospects for heavy rains with thunder in 1 or 2 paces in the districts of Thiruvallur, Chennai, Chingleput, Cuddalore, Villupuram, Pudhukkottai and delta districts today Thursday, 12th November). As for the other interior districts, there are prospects for mild to medium rains in a few places.
There are prospects for medium rains in most places in the State of Tamil Nadu on Friday, 13th November. Similarly, there are prospects for medium rains in several places in the coastal districts. There may be intermittent heavy rains as well!
Warning for fishermen: High-speed cyclonic winds at 40 kmph to 50 kmph is likely to blow over the coastal areas of Tamil |Nadu and Puducherry. Hence, the fishermen in these regions are warned NOT TO VENTURE INTO THE SEA for the next 2 days!”
