It has been announced by the Chennai Metro Rail authorities that from tomorrow (Saturday, 13th February, additional trains will be operated during the peak hours.
In a notification released by the Chennai Metro Rail Administration authorities, it is mentioned that giving due consideration to the appeal from the Chennai Metro Rail passengers, the number of trains operated will be increased on the weekdays (from Monday to Saturday).It has been decided to run a train every 5 minutes instead of the present 7 minutes.
"Accordingly, during the peak hours - from 8.00AM to 10.00 AM in the mornings and from 4.00PM to 7.00 PM in the evenings - trains will be operated every 5 minutes and for the other times, trains will be operated every 10 minutes.
From 10.00 PM to 11.00 PM trains will be operated at an interval of 15 minutes instead of the present 15 minutes.
On Sundays and other festival holidays, trains will be operated at an interval of 20 minutes with no peak-hours considered.
So the passengers are advised to plan their travel accordingly.”
