It is a very well-known and well-recorded fact the citizens from the states of Andhra and Karnataka have made a substantial contribution to the industrial and economic growth of the State of Tamil Nadu! As such, the festival of ‘Ugadhi’ is celebrated in a grand and enthusiastic man in the State of Tamil Nadu as well!
Tomorrow (Wednesday, 14th April) is the Tamil New Year Day! The 1st Day of the Tamil Calendar Month ‘Chithitrai’ is celebrated as Tamil New Year Day!
However, the last Tamil New Year Day in the calendar the year 2020 was celebrated with less verve and enthusiasm due to the onslaught of the raging coronavirus pandemic!
In the scenario as above, the administration of the Chennai Metro Rail has announced a 50% fare concession on behalf of the Ugadi and Tamil New Year Day celebrations for 2 days – today & tomorrow (Tuesday and Wednesday, 13th & 14th April)!
The Chennai Metro Rail administration has further announced that this 50% concession in fare will also apply on all Sundays and Public Holidays!
