Pillars construction work along the Madhavaram - Sholinganallur metro rail route in Chennai!!

In the second phase of metro rail project in Chennai, construction of pillars along the Madhavaram - Sholinganallur route has been going on in full swing now. The phase-2 metro rail project is being implemented at a mammoth cost of Rs 63246 crores for a distance of 118.9km. A metro rail line would be constructed for a distance of 47km on the 5th route between the Madhavaram- Sholinganallur.

There would be as many as 48 metro stations between Madhavaram and Sholinganallur and the metro stations would be built as elevated ones for 41.2kms and as underground for 5.8kms.

The metro line would be constructed from Madhavaram and it would pass through Retteri junction, Valasarawakkm, Porur, Alandur, Adambakkam, Vanuvampet, Puzhuthivakkam, Madipakkam, Keelkattalai, Medavakkam Kuttu Road, Kamraj Garden Street, Medavakkam junction and Perumbakkam etc. For constructing the metro line, hundreds of pillars are being built now in full swing in Chennai.

Some officials belonging to CMRL mentioned that along Madhavaram- Sholinganallur metro rail route, the majority of the metro stations would come up as elevated ones. For this, hundreds of pillars would be constructed one after another. They added that special officers have been appointed for continuous monitoring so that the work could proceed without any delay and for providing reports regarding the present status of the work.
