Corridors of Lord Sri Ayyappan Temple at Sabarimalai to open on 30th June for Vaikasi month poojas!

The corridors of the famous Lord Sri Ayyappan Temple in Sabarimala are scheduled to be opened on May 30th for performing the Poojas scheduled in the Tamil Calendar month of Vaikasi.

It is a tradition to open the corridors of the Lord Sri Ayyappan Temple in Sabarimala at the start of each Tamil Calendar Month for the first five days of the month when special poojas and prayers are performed on Lord Sri Ayyappan Swamy.

On May 30th, under the leadership of Sabarimala tantric Kandararu Magesh Mohanaru, the temple corridors and the sanctum sanctorum of Lord Ayyappan Swamy were opened at 5.00 AM, and lamps were lit. Sabarimala Melsanthi Jayaraman Namboodri received the keys to the Maikkapurathamman Temple corridor keys from Hariharan Namboodri. Subsequently, the Deepam was lit on the camphor receptacle. There were no poojas to be performed on this corridor opening day.

On Monday, May 15th, Maha Ganapathy Homam will be performed at 5.30 AM, `Ghee (refined butter) Abhishekham` will be performed at 7.30 AM, and Udhaysthamana Pooja and Sadhana Abhishekham will be performed at 11.00 AM. Deeparadhanai will be performed at 6.30 PM, followed by Pushpabhishekham and the 18th step Poojas as per tradition until Tuesday, May 16th.

Devotees will be allowed to have Darshan of Lord Sri Ayyappan based on ONLINE registration until May 19th. Devotees who were unable to do ONLINE booking can register at the Centres located at Nilakkal and Pampai.

After the performance of poojas for five days, the temple corridors of the Lord Sri Ayyappan Temple will be closed chanting the hymn, `Harivaraasanam`.

For performing the Pradhishtai Day Poojas, the temple corridors will be opened at 5.00 PM on May 29th. After the performance of all the traditional poojas, the corridors of the temple will be closed on May 30th.
