The feasibility study for linking the Koyambedu and Avadi Chennai Metro Train Service has been successfully completed.
Additionally, the Second Phase of the Chennai Metro Rail Project, which involves the construction of the second and third corridors, is progressing rapidly. This phase of the project is slated for completion by 2028, with an estimated cost of Rs. 69,180 Crores, covering a distance of 119 km.
In light of these developments, a decision has been made to connect certain suburban areas in Chennai Metro City, including Siruseri-Kilambakkam, Poonamallee-Parandur, and Koyambedu-Avadi, to the existing corridors.
The feasibility report for these projects, including the Koyambedu-Avadi link via Thirumangalam and Mugappair (17 km), Siruseri-Kilambakkam (26 km), and Poonamallee-Parandur (50 km), totaling 93 km of Metro Rail project, has been in progress over the past few months.
It`s worth noting that the feasibility studies for the Koyambedu-Avadi and Siruseri-Kilambakkam projects are now complete and will be submitted to the State Government of Tamil Nadu in the near future.
Furthermore, the feasibility report for the Poonamallee-Parandur project is expected to be finalized within the next few months.
