The Chennai Metro Rail has been undertaking various expansion projects to meet the demands of the ever-increasing population in Chennai Metro City!
In this regard, personnel from various fields put up the demand that the Metro Rail Service functioning at Koyambedu MUST be extended up to Avadi.
The administration of the Chennai Metro Rail Company which scrutinized this demand has taken a decision to extend the Metro Rail Service from Koyambedu to Avadi.
As such, Chennai Metro Rail has decided to take up the project of linking Koyambedu to Avadi via Thirumangalam and Mugappair covering A DISTANCE OF 16.07 KM for Rs. 6376 Crores including 15 elevated Chennai Metro Rail Stations.
In the feasibility report prepared for this project, it is recommended that this project is feasible and should be taken up.
