The Meteorological Department has forecasted the possibility of rain in select areas of Delta and Southern districts, commencing on the 31st of January.

Chennai Meteorological Center Director, P. However, a shift in the eastward wind speed towards Tamil Nadu is anticipated to bring about light rainfall in one or two locations in Delta districts of South Tamil Nadu, including Thanjavur, Tiruvarur, Nagapattinam, Mayiladuthurai, and Karaikal, until February 2nd. The rest of the region is expected to experience dry conditions during this period.

Furthermore, the statement indicates that dry weather is likely to prevail in Tamil Nadu on February 3rd. Notably, the Nilgiri district is anticipated to encounter frost during the night and early morning hours.

For today in Chennai and its suburbs, partly cloudy skies are expected. The maximum temperature is projected to reach 32 degrees Celsius, with a minimum temperature of 24 degrees Celsius.

Residents and commuters are advised to stay informed about these weather updates and plan accordingly, especially in the identified regions where rainfall is anticipated from the end of January to the beginning of February.
