Chennai Metro Rail Limited (CMRL) has entered into a contract with Aarvee Associates Architects Engineers & Consultants Pvt Ltd to prepare a Detailed Project Report (DPR) for a new metro corridor from Poonamalle to Parandur. The contract, valued at Rs. 1.74 crore (excluding GST), was signed in the presence of Thiru. M.A. Siddique, Managing Director of CMRL. The corridor will span approximately 43.63 km and feature around 19 elevated stations.
This initiative, influenced by developments like the proposed new airport at Parandur and the future growth potential along the corridor, includes comprehensive soil investigations and topographical surveys. The DPR is expected to be completed by November 2024, with final station numbers and land requirements to be determined after an alignment study.
