Arudra Darisanam at Natarajar Temple, Chidambaram - Commenced with Flag Hoisting

In Chidambaram, Natarajar Temple, the Arudra Darisanam festival for the month of Margazhi begins. The first day of the festival commences on Monday with temple flag hoisting. The Natarajar temple at Chidambaram, Cuddalore district, hosts the grand Arudra Darisanam festival for about 10 days every year. 

For this year, the celebration started on 9th December and will continue for the next 10 days. This occasion occurs at Natarajar Temple, in front of the kotimaram which is opposite to the Citra-house. Morning at 9.50 A.M 

in the presence of panchamurthy, facing the Hastharayar, the Gods delegate the festival was canonically inaugurated with hoisting the cattle-flag by Thillai Nagapooshana Theetshigar. Thousands of devotees participated in the festival and observed lord shiva. Then the lord shiva, panchamurthy statute is presiding over the gold and silver chair for commencing the show of glance through the street for the devotees.
