Labour Minister Oscar Fernandes inaugurates integrated labour law portal

Labour Minister Oscar Fernandes on Thursday inaugurated the integrated labour law portal. This will provide an effective grievance redressal system hyperlinked with the Department of Administrative Reforms & Public Grievances portal.The integrated portal will operate through a Unique Labour Identification Number (Shram Pehchan Sankhya) LIN for each employer/establishment. The employers will be allotted LIN after registration on the portal. The enforcement agency will upload the data for inspection on the Web portal, which will be updated periodically.
Calling for the effective implementation of labour laws, Fernandes said as a pilot initiative, the Ministry had selected the Chief Labour Commissioner (Central) organisation, the Employees State Insurance Corporation and the Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation to start with.
