Monorail for Chennai – Railway officials in discussion

There was a meeting to discuss on the introduction of monorail in Chennai on Tuesday in Chennai.
The Tamil Nadu government had announced the plan for monorail project at the cost of Rs. 16,650 Crores in the year 2011.
The execution of the monorail project has been entrusted to MTC. With the latest budget providing the finance, MTC has swung into action on the monorail project. The selection of the private sector company is in process. The contract details and clauses were explained during the meeting at MTC Head Office on 18th February.
The meeting presided by Secretary for Transport was attended by 4 companies including a Malaysian company. Questions regarding the contract were answered.
