ELECTRICITY BILLS CAN BE PAID IN POST OFFICES

The service was launched in Annanagar post office by the Finance secretary on Monday. Consumers of Chennai city now henceforth or pay their TNEB bills at the post Offices by producing Electricity Meter reading card. Rs 5 as service charge would be received.

CHENNAI GETS ADDITIONAL CONSUMER PANEL BENCH.

There will be one more Circuit bench in Chennai for speedy disposal of pending cases within 90 days. This is a part of The State Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission. There about 2800 cases are pending according to official sources... Constititution of this bench is a permanent feature. What is not decided is whether this should function as a branch of SCDRC and infrastructure not yet ready.

TECHKNOW-2010 IN CHENNAI IN APRIL

It was decided in a meeting held in Anna University by the All India Manufacturers Association[AIMO] chaired by P Mannar Jawahar the Vice Chancellor of Ann University that TECHKNOW – 2010 a forum for Engineering students in South India will be held in Chennai during April 2 – 3.
