The Theosophical Society, founded in 1875, is a worldwide body whose primary object is Universal Brotherhood and ‘Universal Oneness’ based on the belief that life, and all its diverse forms, human and non-human, is indivisibly One.. Theosophy is seen as wisdom underlying all religions when they are stripped of accretions and superstitions. The Banyan tree, the 2nd largest in India, is grown from an offshoot of the Banyan tree under which Buddha was "enlightened.".
