New Post Office opened at Chitlapakkam, Chennai

Some areas of Hastinapuram and Selaiyur near Tambaram were separated and a new Post Office was opened at Chitlapakkam.
The Member of Parliament from the South Chennai Constituency, Mr J. Jayavardhan, Tamil Nadu Postal Department Director, Mr M. Sampath, IPoS, and the Chennai Metro City Postal Department Director, Mr R. Anand IPoS participated in the inaugural event.
In the 1st Phase of services, the facility of opening SSA (Small Savings Account) for 182 girl students studying in the government schools has been set up with the contribution of the South Chennai MP, J. Jayavardhan.
