Commercial LPG cooking gas cylinder price down by Rs. 8.50

The price of the commercial LPG cooking gas cylinder, most used by the hotels and restaurants, has come down by Rs. 8.50 and is now sold at Rs. 1256.
Indian Oil Corporation and Bharat and Hindustan Petroleum, the public sector undertakings, sell 2 kinds of the LPG cooking gas cylinders for houses (weight 14.20 kg) and commercial (weight 19 kg).
The prices of the above LPG cooking gas cylinders are fixed every month based on the price of the crude oil prices in the international market
Accordingly, in the Chennai Metro City, non-subsidised LPG cooking gas cylinder for houses was sold at Rs. 663.50 in April. In May now, the price has reduced by 50 Paisa and is sold at Rs. 663.
However, there is no change in the price of the subsidized LPG cooking gas cylinder which remains at Rs. 479.42.
In Tamil Nadu, only non-subsidised LPG cooking gas cylinders are sold.
For the consumers who have joined the subsidised scheme directly, once they buy the non-subsidised cylinder, the subsidy amount of Rs. 183.58 will be credited to their bank savings account by the oil corporations.
Meanwhile, the price of the commercial LPG cooking gas cylinders, which were sold at Rs. 1264.50 in April, has come down by Rs. 8.50 and is now sold at Rs. 1256 in May.
