The rates of the data providing cost of BSNL was analyzed to be the lowest when compared to other networks, especially after the launch of the new recharge plan of Rs 98. This new plan is available in all cities of the country and comes with the new data STV-98 pack. The 3G speed Internet data is provided for a 26-days of validity in all regions except Kerala.

Recently the BSNL launched a special offer of Rs 118 that gives unlimited voice calling with 1 GB data with a validity of 28 days. The competition gets diluted for BSNL only at the point of data speed where all other telecom sectors provide 4G data but BSNL still operating the 3G speed only. The future plans of BSNL is to launch their own network distribution of 4G spectrum of telecommunication all over the country in much low prices compared to its competitors.

The new Rs98 plan of BSNL is the direct answer to the Reliance Jios 149 Rs plan. The updated rates of the data plan comes around exactly to Rs 2.51 per GB. Jios plan offers 1.5 GB per day for 28 days averaging the total of Rs 3.5 per GB. The Reliance Jios 98 Rs plan offers 2GB data with 300 SMS for 28 days along with access to Jio Apps. Likewise the BSNL offer gives the access free signature tune. The plan is initially launched in Chennai and Kolkata followed by other cities.

Fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) is the new techno-development of BSNL to compete with the telecom giants of the country. BSNL has revised the FUP limit in the upgraded plan of Rs 4,499 FTTH offer to 1, 500 GB with speed up to 100 Mbps. After the FUP limit is crossed the data speed comes around 2 Mbps. This plan of BSNL is available only in Chennai and the process of launching it in all cities is in the final phase of execution.
