A new facility added in Google Maps App to inform about accidents

A new facility has been added as a feature in the Google Maps App for the users to inform about accidents and speed-control zones. This facility had been introduced in an App for navigation called ‘Ways’ to inform about speed-drop and also accidents.

Presently, Google has introduced this feature globally. In the 1st Phase, this facility has been introduced only in the Android equipment.  It is expected that this will be introduced shortly on iPhones as well.

In the information released in a website, it is informed that the facility to inform about speed drops and accidents on the navigation mode in the Android equipment throughout the world. In the Google Maps App, a new facility, ‘Add a report’, has been introduced.

 As it was available in the App ‘Ways’, the users can enter details regarding accidents or speed-control zones in the Google Maps App as well! Users can click the arrow mark located on the bottom of the screen or the button on the navigation screen and use the facility ‘Add a report’.

Once this is clicked, Google can be directly informed about the details on the accidents or speed-control zones. Google Maps will also display the info registered by others on this regard. This will help the driver to decide whether to continue to travel on the same route or take a ‘detour’.

However, there has so far been no official announcement released by Google regarding this new feature added in its Google Maps App!
