Reports from Kerala confirmed the outbreak of the disease spread by the rare species called Nipah Virus. The State government is taking necessary precautionary and treatment methods to control the sudden outbreak and to bring an awareness about the viral infection among the people.

Key Causes: Infected Pigs or animals when contacted directly the virus may get transferred to the human body. Consuming the contaminated fruits half eaten by the Bats can cause the infection. Direct contact with the Nipah virus affected person can also bring in the disease as it is highly communicable.

Nipah Virus (NiV) was first discovered in the year 1998 and thought to be a disease spread through fruit eating bats. Kerala Health Department confirmed the disease outbreak in few parts of the state and individuals affected by Niv will be monitored on a special medical platform studying the necessary preventive and treatment options to stop the outbreak immediately.

NiV Infection

Nipah virus can affect Human beings and other animals as well, Pteropodidae family of fruit eating Bats being the primary reason for the infection. Many deaths were reported in 1998 as the result of this disease outbreak in Malaysia. WHO initiated a report jotting down the key causes as Domesticated pigs acting as a carrier of such virus and the bats contaminating the fruit with the Nipah-Virus.

Symptoms and Preventive Measures

The symptoms range from fever, head ache, fainting, nausea, stomach pain, vomiting, fatigue, blurred vision and choking. The disease can affect a person from 5 to 14 days depending on the age and other factors.

Only one percentage per outbreak will be affected by some serious conditions of Nipah Virus. So there is nothing to worry about the infections, the bodies’ pre-immunity can effectively fight against the virus and can eradicate it completely from the blood stream. All we have to do is to take the right treatment and preventive measures. Wait patiently without any stress over the dangerous effects as the panic caused by the outbreak may escalate the disease further.

Buying fresh fruits without any degradation over the skin layer and following precautionary hygienic conditions at home like cleaning utensils regularly, avoiding junk foods and fast foods are enough to drive away any kind of Nipah viral infection. Once it is discovered on a person take preventive measures not to get infected easily.
