In the entire India, highest number of fresh COVID cases now reported in TN

Who would have thought that in the entire India Tamil Nadu would have the highest number of fresh Covid-19 cases for a single day?
Ever since the Coronavirus pandemic started in March 2020, TN reported the highest number of cases on Tuesday. This has taken many by surprise now. On 15th May 2021, Tamil Nadu reported as many as 33658 fresh cases and on 16th May as many as 33181 fresh cases were reported.
Point is that on 17th May as many as 33075 fresh cases were reported in TN. This has shown that the number of fresh cases have been decreasing in Tamil Nadu. In Tamil Nadu on Tuesday, there were as many as 33059 fresh cases. The cumulative tally of cases in TN now stands at 1664350.In the last 24 hours, as many as364 persons passed away due to this deadly infection. Till now, in TN as many as 18369 persons have died due to Coronavirus infection and it is the fourth highest in India.
In TN, there is now a spike in the number of active cases and this has become a huge cause for concern for many. It is clear that as of Tuesday as many as 242949 have been undergoing treatment in various healthcare centres and homes in Tamil Nadu.
Point is that out of those nearly one third were from Chennai region. For the third day in a row, the number of persons testing positive decreased in the hotspot Chennai. Chennai yesterday reported as many as 6016 new cases. When compared to Monday, the daily infection cases on Tuesday went down by 38percent in Kancheepuram. The positivity rate has not gone down in other neighbouring districts like Tiruvallur and Chengalpet. There were 3071 fresh cases yesterday in Coimbatore district and this district is the second worst affected in TN.
