The first 20 citizens who had registered earlier got the vaccination administered in this event!

Even as the 1st wave of the coronavirus pandemic was lashing throughout the world, the global countries decided THAT VACCINE IS THE ONLY SOLUTION FOR PREVENTING THE SPREAD! As such, many countries focused on the invention of a suitable vaccine!

The vaccines Covishield and Covaccine were used in India. The phased programme of vaccination for all commenced in January when during the 1st Phase, all the health field workers and officials were vaccinated first!

In the 2nd Phase, corona vaccines were administered to senior citizens above the age of 60. Further, during March, vaccination was administered to citizens above 45 years who had other health-related complaints (blood pressure, diabetes, etc.).

It was during the period when the resurgent corona surfaced and spread fast and wide throughout the country! Following this, citizens above 45 years of age who had no parallel disease complaint were also administered with the corona vaccine!

As the citizens of Tamil Nadu rather showed reluctance towards vaccination, during the initial stages of the countrywide corona vaccination, the State of Tamil Nadu was lagging, being the LAST in the list during this phase!

Meanwhile, the Central Government ordered that citizens in the age group 18-44, MUST ALSO GET VACCINATED! It had been scheduled earlier to commence this on 1st May. The Registration for vaccination commenced on 28th April. However, due to the main reason OF SHORTAGE OF VACCINE, the government announced the postponement of the scheme!

Meanwhile, M K Stalin assumed the office of the Chief Minister of the State of Tamil Nadu on 7th May. He announced that the vaccination process will be expedited! The State Government of Tamil Nadu announced the procurement of 5 Crores vaccines. It asked for a contract for the procurement of the 3.5 Crores vaccine.

So far, 3.63 Crores Citizens have registered on the State Government’s Official website for vaccination. The State Department of Health announced that vaccination for the age group 18-44 will commence from 20th May.

Accordingly, the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin inaugurated the commencement of vaccination for the citizens of the age group 18-44 at Tirupur today (Thursday, 20th May). The inaugural event was performed at the Netaji Readymade Textile Complex. The Chief Minister inaugururated.
