As per Mr. J. Radhakrishnan, health secretary for the state of TN, all persons have been isolated and are being monitored regularly. He also mentioned that others who came in contact with these affected persons have also been identified and isolated. It must be taken into account that the first patient has recovered fully from the new variant. It is learnt that Chennai had as many as 43 new Coronavirus positive cases and Tamil Nadu had 105 new Coronavirus cases.

It was later brought out by the health secretary that the central government would officially announce the detection of new variants.

The health minister then made it clear that strict adherence to Covid-19 protocols was necessary. It is important to note that the public must be cautious about Omicron that would spread very fast.
