Booster covid-19 vaccination doses would be administered for all age groups free of cost at the selected private hospitals hereafter. This was confirmed by the health minister Mr. M. Subramanian.
On Wednesday, 22nd June 2022, 27th graduation ceremony took place at the Government Mohan Kumaramangalam Medical College and Hospital. The health minister made his presence at the ceremony. He spoke about how the Union government was urged to provide free booster doses for the age group 18 to 59 like they have been administered with first and second vaccination doses.
It is known that currently those persons above the age of 60 and frontline workers have been administered with booster doses free of cost. Point is that private hospitals are permitted to administer booster doses to those in the age groups 18 to 59 at Rs 386 per dose.
Under Corporate Social Responsibility, a new initiative has been taken now to provide free booster doses at selected private hospitals. It is true that in Tamil Nadu 95% of the eligible population have received their first vaccination dose and 85% with their second dose.
It is learnt that in TN 39lakh people and 1.12 crore people havent yet received their first and second vaccination doses respectively.
