After 5 months, what has happened in Chennai now is really shocking!!

On 5th February 2022, Chennai reported more than 1000 fresh or new Covid-19 cases. On Friday, 1st July 2022 after 5 months, Chennai has once again reported more than 1000 fresh or daily Covid-19 cases. As many as 1025 fresh novel Coronavirus positive cases were reported in Chennai. Across Tamil Nadu, as many as 2385 Covid-19 cases were reported yesterday. The total number of Coronavirus infection cases reported in Chennai now stands at 762482.

In Chengalpet, 369 persons had tested Covid-19 positive and in Tiruvallur 121 persons had tested Covid-19 positive. Kancheepuram had as many as 84 cases followed by 72 in Kanniyakumari, 67 in Trichy etc. Till now, TN has recorded as many as 3477570 Covid-19 cases. In TN, 1321 persons have got discharged from the hospitals as they have recovered fully from the infection.

In Chennai, the number of active cases was 5173 and was followed by Chengalpet with 2058 active cases. Coimbatore had 746 active cases. The overall test positivity rate or TPR has gone up to 7.25 now.

It was revealed by data on Thursday that the Test Positivity Rate in Chennai was 10.4% and Chengalpet had TPR of 16.65 and that was the highest ever in the state.
