Number of people facing death due to accidents is alarmingly increasing every year. Hence, Central Government of India has decided to enforce strict rules on the traffic regulations and impose stiff penalties as punishments to people who do not follow them. A new Road Safety and Transport Bill 2014 has been released recently. It will be discussed and passed as law in the coming winter session of parliament.
When the new bill is enforced in near future, people will have to pay Rs. 4000 as fine for talking in mobile while driving. If this continues for the second time, the fine will be Rs. 6000 and for the third time it is Rs. 10,000. Rs.25,000 will be the penalty for drunk and driving, and from Rs.5,000 to Rs.25,000 is levied as fine for rash driving. For people who drive two wheelers without wearing helmets the penalty is going to be Rs. 2500. For overloading in vehicles, the fine may reach up to Rs.50,000.
