Booksellers and Publishers Association of south India or BAPASI would be organizing a book fair at the famous St George Anglo-Indian School in Poonamallee, Chennai and this book fair would be inaugurated by the minister of education Mr. Sengottaiyan. It must be noted that this upcoming book fair would be the 41st book fair and it would begin on 10th January and would go on till 22nd January 2018.
It is superb that there would be as many as 700 book stalls in this book fair and this would include 428 Tamil book stalls and 234 English book stalls. There would also be 22 multimedia stalls in this book fair. People visiting this book fair would be able to see the books belonging to many subjects like food, health, architecture, environment etc. It is superb to mention that for the sake of visually impaired students separate stalls would be present and those stalls would sell Braille books.
It is now said that Sahitya Academy, University of Madras plus others like National book Trust, International Institute of Tamil Studies etc would be taking part in this upcoming book fair.
Vairavan who is the president of BAPASI shared his thoughts about the musical performance that would be conducted by the students ahead of the book fair. K. Pandiarajan who is the minister for Tamil language and Tamil Culture would be inaugurating a huge statue of the great poet Thiruvalluvar at this book fair.
It must be noted that the school children would be making their presence felt in the art and cultural competitions and these competitions would be conducted during the book fair. Many upcoming filmmakers would be showcasing their talent as their short films would be screened here.
One important piece of information is the interaction between the readers and the writers would be possible at the book fair.
