Rains are expected to commence shortly in the KTCC region (Kanchipuram-Tiruvallur-Chennai) and the Pondicherry belt. As the evening progresses into the night, rainfall intensity is predicted to increase significantly. Notably, this weather phenomenon is localized, with no rains reported in other areas currently.

The cyclone system is forecasted to bring very heavy to extremely heavy rains across the region from Chennai to Pondicherry starting tonight and peaking tomorrow (Saturday). Caution is advised, as there is a potential for rains to extend into Sunday.

Meteorologists emphasize the unpredictability of this system, describing it as one of the most challenging to interpret due to its complexity. Despite the difficulties, experts urge the public to remain vigilant, particularly in low-lying areas, as the cyclone is expected to dump substantial rainfall.

Last night, a single cloud formation resulted in 50–60 mm of rain, highlighting the intensity this system can bring. Residents in the affected regions are advised to take necessary precautions and stay updated on weather forecasts.
