Madras Medical College or MMC is very famous medical college in the city of Chennai in the state of Tamil Nadu. MMC was established way back in the year 1835 and since then this prestigious medical college has been responsible for creating many medical professionals who have been doing superbly in their profession.

It must be noted that this MMC is the third oldest medical college in India and has the students from this college have been coming for a get together function every year. Yesterday on 7th January 2018, around 500 alumni met in the annual get together function and they all had great time. It is interesting to mention here that students from 1954 batch also made their presence felt in the annual get together function.

It is now revealed by some alumni members that the 2018 year get together could be the last to be held in the old campus of Madras Medical College.

It is sensational that alumni members from countries like UK, USA, Australia and others took part in this get together and shared their memories about their college days. It is said that these old students visited their classrooms, library, corridors, grounds etc.

It is known that new campus was created in the place that had central jail in the past and these old students spent some time at this new campus also.

It is now revealed that these old students would soon be involved in setting up of research support groups. The main purpose for setting up of research groups would be to improve the research work in the medical colleges present in the state of Tamil Nadu.

It is now clear that the research groups would be playing important roles in guiding the junior medical professionals in their research activities and also help in dissertation and publications.

The research group would also be involved in receiving funds from the union ministry of science and technology for the projects.
