Traffic diversions have been announced by the Avadi police from today onwards. This was mainly to facilitate the metro rail work phase-2 corridor at Poonamallee. It is now said that those vehicles going from Chennai to Bangalore would be moving slowly. On a trial basis for a period of 3 days, traffic diversion would come into effect from 7th May 2022. It might be extended to 5 months also.
From Karayanchavdi, all vehicles except ambulances and 2-wheelers would not be allowed to enter Poonamallee Trunk Road. It must be noted that heavy vehicles from Porur 2 Poonamallee, all MTC buses and other buses must pass through Kumananchanvadi and must take ma right turn at Karayanchavadi Junction-Avadi Road to enter Poonamallee bypass and reach Poonamalle bus terminus.
Right turn at Kumananchavadi must be taken by all vehicles (commercial and heavy) intending to reach Chennai-Bangalore highway. These vehicles must then reach Saveetha Dental College Hospital by taking a right turn at Kumananchavadi Junction to take the Poonamallee bypass road.
