Government online facilities can be availed at home - no need to visit e-service centres

The facility with which the public can access all government e-services right at their residences is to be introduced shortly.

The Electronic Corporation of Tamil Nadu, under the state government services, has been providing the various e-services through e-service centres under the control of the Tamil Nadu Tamil Nadu Arasu Cable TV Corporation Limited.

There are a total of 10420 service centres are operating in the state of Tamil Nadu including the Cooperative unions and the private centres. Around 4.6 Crores services have been given by these e-service cenres so far including the 1.05 Crore services given in the year 2017-18.

In this situation, the facility to extended the services so that the public can avail them right at their residences is about to be introduced.

The Tamil Nadu Arasu Cable TV Corporation Limited officials explained in this regard:

114 various Tamil Nadu State government services such as income certificates, residence-proof certificates, and caste certificates are provided. Further, 95 central government services such as passport applications, Aadhar card-related services, etc., are also provided. Thus, presently, a total of 208 state/central government services are available currently through the government e-service centres.

Henceforth, the public can avail these services right at their residences. An open space portal is being created for this purpose.

After entering the page of the e-service on the internet, enter the citizen code number, An OTP (One-Time Password) will be sent to the mobile phone.  

All the government e-services can be accessed from here. In the 1st Phase, only services from the revenue and social welfare departments can be accessed and availed. The other services would be extended gradually. This will be introduced in the near future.
