Mahindra & Mahindra’s Farm Equipment Sector, India’s leading tractor manufacturer, recently announced the winners of the Mahindra Samriddhi India Agri Awards (MSIAA) 2018. Instituted in 2011, the Mahindra Samriddhi India Agri Awards are bestowed upon farmers and institutions to recognize their noteworthy and purposeful contribution in the field of agriculture, the backbone of the Indian economy.
Mahindra also utilized the Samriddhi Awards platform to reinforce its commitment to Farming 3.0, the new age in Indian agriculture which will be defined by innovation and technology. Unveiled last year, at the seventh edition of the Samriddhi awards, Farming 3.0 aims to make agriculture sustainable through initiatives that will balance productivity and economics with social and environmental considerations.
The Honourable Union Minister of Agriculture, Shri Radha Mohan Singh, was the Chief Guest at the awards ceremony. Honourable Minister of State for Agriculture, Sh Parshottam Rupala, Honourable Minister of State for Agriculture Sh. Gajendra Singh Shekhawat and Honourable Minister of State for Agriculture, Sh. Krishna Raj were the Guests of Honour at the awards ceremony.
The Mahindra Samriddhi Krishi Shiromani Samman (Lifetime Achievement Award) 2017 was conferred upon Dr. Deepak Pental for his immense contribution to Indian agriculture. The award was conferred upon him for his contribution towards research and development in crop cultivation, particularly mustard and cotton.

The Mahindra Samriddhi India Agri Awards initiative is an extension of Mahindra’s Samriddhi initiative which aims to enhance agricultural productivity through innovative farming technologies, thereby leading to an increase in rural prosperity. Several Mahindra dealerships have been transformed into Samriddhi Centres offering the farmer easy access to technological know-how, hybrid seeds, soil and irrigation water testing facilities, demo farms, finance and insurance, internet updates, apart from sales and service of tractors and advanced implements.
